About Dr. Robert M. Webman

A highly respected gastroenterologist with more than 20 years of experience in private practice, Dr. Robert M. Webman has also served as a volunteer Associate Professor of Clinical Medicine at the Harbor-UCLA Medical Center since 1987. Dr. Webman performs a wide range of gastroenterological procedures, including EGDs, colonoscopies, ERCPs with sphincterotomies, stone extractions, stent placements, laser treatments, and dilations. Dr. Robert Webman was named one of America’s Top Gastroenterologists by the Consumers’ Research Council of America. Dr. Robert M. Webman attended the University of Massachusetts Amherst, where he earned a BS in Zoology in 1973. At the University of Massachusetts Amherst, Dr. Webman joined The Phi Beta Kappa Society honor society, and he graduated summa cum laude. With this distinguished undergraduate record, Dr. Webman enrolled at the University of Massachusetts Medical School in Worcester, Massachusetts, where he earned his Doctor of Medicine in 1978. Dr. Robert M. Webman completed his residency in internal medicine at Good Samaritan Hospital in Los Angeles, California, followed by a prestigious fellowship in gastroenterology at Tulane Medical Center in New Orleans, Louisiana. Dr. Robert M. Webman opened his private practice in Torrance, California, in September 1988 and has practiced both there and in hospital settings for the two decades since. Dr. Webman regularly covers for other internists, gastroenterologists, and family practitioners and possesses expertise in diagnostic endoscopy, pancreatic disease, digestive disorders, and liver disorders. A board-certified internist, Dr. Robert M. Webman was named Educator of the Year in 1999 by the Division of Gastroenterology at Harbor-UCLA Medical Center. Dr. Robert M. Webman enjoys film, tennis, and traveling and supports a number of charities, including the San Pedro branch of Boys & Girls Clubs of America, The Children’s Hospital Foundation, the American Breast Cancer Foundation, the National Multiple Sclerosis Society, and the American Cancer Society, Inc.
